The striking beauty of MRI images—and what makes us human
An MRI scan uses magnetism, radio waves and computer technology to produce images of different parts of the body. The combination of the magnetic field and radio waves create highly detailed images to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of various conditions and diseases.
To those suffering with pain or facing a medical issue, MRIs are simply a non-invasive diagnostic experience—but the images produced not only provide physicians with the ability to evaluate tissue, organs, bones and joints, they’re often more amazing than one could ever imagine.
And since most of us never actually get to view our own MRI scans, we’d like to share some of the most stunning MRI images with you. Here’s what your radiologist sees when you have an MRI:
1. Baby in the womb
2. The Brain
3. The Neck
4. The Foot
5. Lungs
6. Hands
7. Knee Joint
8. The heart
9. The Spine
10. The Torso
